◆Contemporary Buddhist Art Group S_VA_HA（s-va-ha）

In 2012,S-VA-HA（S_VA_HA） was formed to be an artists group seeking a direct connection between contemporary art and Buddhism. 

S-VA-HA made video art and video installation art from own performance .

Their performance was composed by "Dance as a Buddhist statue" and "Buddhist sutra chanting "and "Reading of literature about theme ".　

And done live porfomnace for the audience at historical place or gallery space.

All members of S-VA-HA were graduated from Tama Art University and they have been exhibited as solo artists.

A member of S-VA-HA, TETTA, who produces CG artworks ,Oil painting and runs a work shop project in which she applies Bodhisattva makeup on the faces of more 1,000 people and takes photos of them .

A member of S-VA-HA, Shugyo Kawakami, Buddhist monk/painter who expands the traditional Buddhist art/manga styles into contemporary “yorozuga” art.

A member of S -VA-HA, Yukihisa Hirabayashi, Buddhist monk／painter who explores the connection between contemporary art and Buddhism through paintings, sculptures and installation works. 

Therefore, At solo exhibition of S-VA-HA , not only video art or video installation art from performance but also painting installation by members of s-va-ha were presented.

仏教・現代・美術グループ ソ-ワ-カ

２０１２年、「仏教」と「現代美術」の直結を試みる「仏教•現代•美術」グループとして結成。

TETTAの仏、菩薩に扮した舞踏と平林、川上の読経、テーマに関する文献の朗読からなるパフォーマンスを元にした映像作品や映像インスタレーションの制作、ライブパフォーマンスを行なってきた。

また史跡やギャラリーでのライブパフォーマンスも行ってきた。

メンバ―は個々の美術作家としても活動経験があり多摩美術大学の卒業生である。

メンバーのTETTAはCGや油彩での作品制作の他に彼女の考案したワークショッププロジェクトにより１０００人以上の参加者に菩薩メイクを施し写真に収めてきた。

メンバーの川上秀行は僧侶/画家で伝統的な仏教美術とマンガを取り合わせた現代アートとしての"萬画"を制作する。

メンバーの平林幸壽は僧侶/画家で絵画、立体作品、インスタレーションを通して現代美術と仏教の統合を試みてきた。

よってソ-ワ-カ名義の個展ではソ-ワ-カとしてのば映像作品や映像インスタレーションと共にメンバー三人の作品をペインティングインスタレーションとして発表される。
